After managing more than 1,400 orders for promotional jute bags, we have found that there is no single model that is suitable for every campaign. Therefore, before choosing, it is essential to consider the size, gusset, handles, fabric weight and the design you want to print.
Your choice should primarily be based on how the bag will be used. A large bag with a generous gusset can be very practical for the beach or retail, but it will probably be unnecessary if it is only going to be used to hand out documents at a conference.
This is one of the most common comparisons when choosing a promotional bag. Neither material is better in every situation, as it depends on the intended use, budget and image you want your company to convey.
| Criterion | Cotton | Jute |
|---|---|---|
| Feel And Appearance | Soft, flexible and uniform. | Pronounced, rustic texture with a natural appearance. |
| Structure | Lightweight and mouldable. | Greater body and overall rigidity. |
| Personalisation | Easier to print thanks to its smooth surface. | Unique visual finish on an irregular texture. |
| Price | More affordable entry-level options. | Higher initial cost depending on finishes and volume. |
| Ideal Use | Large-scale campaigns where unit cost is a priority. | Campaigns seeking capacity, durability and an eco-friendly aesthetic. |
Each product in our catalogue offers different printing techniques, so we always recommend checking the product page before choosing a model. However, the most common and widely used options are screen printing and transfer printing, although some designs also offer embroidery or the possibility of laser engraving on a label, for example.
Screen printing is particularly suitable for relatively simple logos with defined colours and allows large quantities to be personalised efficiently. For simple corporate designs, company names, symbols or messages with good legibility, it is usually our first choice when the model allows it.
On the other hand, transfer printing is more suitable for designs with a wider colour range or compositions that require more detail to be reproduced.
If you are unsure which technique is best for your design, contact our Customer Service team for personalised advice.
After more than 14 years of experience managing orders, we have identified the most common mistakes our customers make. Here are the ones to look out for!
Not all jute bags are the same, nor do they all serve exactly the same purpose. That is why we can guide you in your choice based on how they will be used or the occasion on which they will be given out.
For Trade Fairs And Conferences
If the bag will contain catalogues, documents and small gifts, we generally recommend a lightweight model with a large surface area for the logo and a size that is proportionate to the contents. It is not always necessary to choose the highest fabric weight or the largest gusset.
For Summer And Beach Campaigns
In these cases, greater capacity is more useful. Models with gussets and long handles make it easy to carry items such as towels, bottles, toiletry bags or beach accessories.
For Shops And Retailers
Shopper-style bags are a practical option when you want customers to be able to reuse them afterwards. It is worth paying attention to both the size and the durability of the handles.
For Welcome Packs And Corporate Gifts
When several products are being given inside the bag, we recommend calculating the approximate volume of the complete set in advance. This helps avoid choosing a bag that is too small or paying for capacity that ultimately is not needed.
For Gifts With A Higher Perceived Value
Models that combine jute with cotton, include pockets or closures, or feature more refined finishes may be more suitable when the presentation of the gift is particularly important.
If you want to create a corporate gift pack and use jute as one of its main elements, you can combine the bags with other products from our catalogue:
Jute stands out for its natural appearance and unique texture, which gives it greater body and substance than other lighter materials. It also offers excellent logo visibility, high durability thanks to its robust and reusable nature, and great versatility, allowing everything from pouches and bottle covers to large gusseted shopper bags to be produced. Some models can even be combined with cotton.
Jute bags stand out mainly because of their texture, greater rigidity and natural appearance. This makes them look and feel different from many conventional canvas bags for personalisation. However, durability depends on the specific model and not solely on the material. Fabric weight, stitching, handles, reinforcements and dimensions should also be taken into account.
We offer different fabric weights, although the most popular options for our bags are 250 g/m², 320 g/m² and up to 360 g/m². Bear in mind that fabric weight provides information about the weight and body of the material, but it does not directly indicate the maximum load. To find out how much a particular bag can carry, we recommend checking the specifications provided on its product page.
Jute provides a rustic and distinctive finish due to the visible, irregular texture of the fabric. Therefore, for the best printing results, it is preferable to opt for simple designs with defined shapes and large text, as very fine lines or details may lose definition. If you are looking for greater sharpness, we also recommend considering printing on the cotton areas of bags that combine both materials.
Yes. This option is available on the product page when placing your order. For large quantities, we recommend contacting our Customer Service team beforehand to check stock availability.
Jute bags are easy to care for, although they should not be treated like conventional fabric or machine washed, as excessive water can deform and alter their fibres. For proper maintenance, simply shake the bag to remove any solid residue, spot-clean stains with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap without soaking the fabric, and allow it to dry completely before storing it.
Although jute is a natural plant-based fibre, the overall environmental footprint of each bag depends on its complete composition, which may include laminates, synthetic materials or dyes. It is advisable to check the technical specifications of each product to assess the recyclability or biodegradability of the model before placing an order.
We offer other materials, sizes and formats within our catalogue of promotional bags. If the budget, printing technique or intended use means that jute is not the most suitable option, you can compare other types of bags before placing your order.
